Full Version: Aaahhh! The Tank Is Loud!

Well I have all the equipment running (finally)! But... the water is gushing very loudly out of the overflow tube and I have the return on full blast to keep up with the overflow. The current is so fast that the poor clown fish can't swim in it. Especially the male. Also, there is gurgling coming from the overflow... the water in the J-tube is very bubbly- is that normal?? Man, it's just one thing after another. Now that I understand how the overflow and return work I know why ppl are scared of power outages. Well, sorry I keep bugging you all for help. The tank was looking nice and clear until I started up all this machinery! Oh, the protein skimmer is working well. It turns out that it wasn't missing anything. Thanks for your patient with me. biggrin.gif Someday everything will be working.

I'm glad it's up and running! I'm sure the sand storm will settle down. I know people complain about the noise--I wish I had some advice! But it's going to be really nice when you get it all settled.

And hey--once I actually get my main tank up and running, don't think I won't be asking for payback on any advice I managed to be helpful with! :-)
