Hi every1, i jst brought the tropiquarium aquarium n i jst realized it says for marine n fresh water fish. i was wondering if i could keep goldfish in da aquarium.
Black oranda
It says fresh water fish aswell and goldfish are fresh water fish so,ya i don't see why you wouldn't be able to keep goldfish in it.
How many gallons is it.

HI dark ultimate. Black Oranda is right you should be able to keep goldfish in it, as long as it is 10 gal or more.

Goldfish are very messy fish and 1 goldfish needs 10 gal of water each to be happy and healthy or you will have sick fish all the time.

Post back and let us know and we should be able to help you get it started.

Good luck.

Yes, one of the rules for a healthy aquarium is to have one goldfish per 10 gallons - or 2 fsh for a 20 gallon aquarium. This is because goldfish need room to swim, grow, eat, and poop. But are you planning to buy thin fish (like commens, comments, shubunkins) or egg - shaped goldfish (such as fantails, ryukins, telescopes, black moors, etc..) ?

Sometimes though, if you want more than two in your 20 gallon, do a water change at least once every week if not two to be extra sure your fish will not get sick or die, you can keep four fish in your 20 gallon aquarium. And if you test for nitrites, ammonia, and Ph and keep them at the correct levels.

But if you can help it, 3 is all right for a 20 gallon as well, with the same thing to do as above.

Hope this helps with your question..

Yes, only 2 goldfish for a 20 gal tank. That is if you want healthy, growing to capacity fish.
I know it doesn't seem like much, but your fish will thank you.

Fancy goldfish, like orandas, fantails, ranchus and lionheads need 10 gal each. Now if you get commons or commets or even the feeder GF (commons), those need 15 - 20 gal of water each. This is because they grow larger than the fancy kind.

Do you have a fish that you like?

Thanx every1 for helping me out here. i would really like to have bubble eyes in the aquarium. how many gals does a pleco take up and what temputure can goldfish stand.
sourmilknightmares
It depends on what type of pleco you want. DO NOT get a common pleco if you intend to keep it with your goldfish. Common plecos get absolutely huge and aggressive (most of them) as they get older. If you insist upon getting a pleco try a Rubbernose (also called a rubberlip) pleco. They stay small, about 4", but still have that cool pleco look without being aggressive.

That said, having two goldfish and a pleco in one 20 gallon tank is kinda pushing the limits. It you wanted to do that you would have to do lots of water changes to make sure that all of your water parameters stay acceptable.

Goldfish can do well without a heater at room temperature if the temperature in your house doesn't fluctuate too much and doesn't get too cold or too hot. Some people do like to use heaters with their goldfish though. I don't remember the correct temperature to set it. You'ld have to ask someone else on that.

Bubble Eyes are awesome! They are easily my favorite type of goldie. They just seem to have so much personality!

Congrats on your new tank and thank you for doing some research on goldfish instead of just jumping in head first without any idea of what you need to do like most people (including myself!) end up doing.
