Hey,
I have a bubble disk in my 55 and algae grows on the glass between the water surface and the flouresent lights. But the only place the green algae grows is where the bubbles come up because thats where the glass stays wet. Is there any trick to keep the algae from growing on the glass, anything to put on the glass?

Thanks

Not that I know of. I have never found anything that prevents algae from growing wherever it feels like it.

The only ways to reduce tank algae are to fiddle with the light level (some algae won't grow in very dim or very bright light) or remove the nutrients in the water by adding granules to your filter which take out phosphates; if you have live plants in the tank, then forget that though - it'll starve them too.

You just have to keep wiping it off - sorry. smile.gif

Nope... when bubbles burst at the surface, they splash water on the glass. That is the place with the highest lighting so algae will grow there. Just clean the glass once or twice a week. As you may have already noticed, it is very easy to scrape them off.
