Ok well I just got my 55gallon long tank. It's long.. It was a fish tank but I am turning it into a sanke tank. Well I need to find a lid that will fit it. Does any one know a site to get one at?

If you have a regular sized 55 gallon tank-48"x12 1/2"x21
then you can get a top from places like Petco, Petsmart
or other stores that sell tanks.


Sanke? this would be a koi? If so, they need a minimum
of 100 gallons of pond water per fish. They don't to real
well in tanks, especially once they start getting big.

sanke? snake? if you are turning fishtank into snake tank you will need a good fitting lid as they are strong, also my friend turned a lovely rio 125 tank by cutting out the filter for his rainbow boa's and it just didnt work the glass always had condinstation on it and you couldnt see nothing (but he did sell tank to me for £50 so didnt end all bad)

ps before i got marryed i kept a 2ft corn snake in a 4 foot viv, wife said she wouldnt live in same house as snake ! !

I bet you meant a snake tank, right? For snakes its best to have a top that can "breathe", not glass. LIke Paul said at places like Petco and Petsmart you can get tank lids for reptiles, especially Petco has a great selection on those. Depending on what kind of snake you want, some lids need a little extra to hold it down, some snakes are esape artists. My stepsons ball python always tried to get out....

No, not koi. Sorry I miss typed on my first post. A Ball Python. I have alot of pets I know about them all. My BP needs a bigger tank so I got a free 55gallon tank. It's long and the L is 48' and the W is 13'. I know I need a lid that fits..... thanks.
