Are snails worth having in goldfish tank? I have a sixty gal tank with a few midsize fancys a pleco and a dojo. Do they help clean the tank or are they just a different decoration?
Also my largest goldfish i used to clean out my moms guppy tank, it was being overrun with the small parasite snails it used to look like the gravel was moving but i put comet in there and he cleaned em out after a few times being in the tank. Do goldfish eat the apple snails?
Any tips suggestions info would be much apprecitated. Thankz

very huge goldfish will eat apple snails but most leave the bigger speices alone. My snails do a really good job of cleaning the tank but other people say their snail never touched the algea. they are usally more just for fun than for cleaning purposes. check out

I love snails. They are always worth it.

Dojo... loach?

Noo!!! Loaches naturally eat snails, so.. don't combine them.

I have an apple snail, and 2 dojos, and they're fine. They've been together for months. Maybe cuz the apple snail is too big to look like food?

Sometimes it depends on the individual animals and such, but as a general rule don't mix loaches and snails. I've also heard of loaches living for a while with snails then suddenly turning evil and attacking them.
