Since I will soon be upgrading to a 75 gallon tank...
I was wondering for those bare bottom tanks, doesnt the goldfish poop fly everywhere since it has nowhere to settle?
Just wanted to know if I should add real little gravel or not!
Thanks! (cant wait for my new tank )

I cover about 40-50% of the tank bottom with a single layer of river rocks. Combines the aesthetics of a substrate with the ease of vacuuming a bare bottom tank.

I have all bare bottom tanks, with a few river rocks here and there, but mostly bare. I hardly ever see any poop since I added an extra piece of intake tube to the filter, so the tube goes all the way down to the tank bottom.....

I run my 10Gal quarantine/hospital tank with a bare bottom & I love it so much I'm thinking about taking out the gravel in my 55Gal.
I have two new fish in it at the moment (been there a week, moving into the big house tomorrow) & there really hasn't been that much poop to speak of, even with a bubble wall it's not flying around all over the place?
River rocks look fantastic too though, so that may be an option if you don't want to see the poop in between water changes.

No worries on that note... the excrement goes right into the filter! Depending on the scenario, your tank will look crystal clear at all times during the week. One huge advantage to bare-bottom tanks is you see exactly what your fish eat. Also, you can time how long it takes for fishy to eat and evaluate how much you're feeding. There's no feed sinking into the gravel where it has the potential for getting lost and wasted.

Yeah, its pretty neat! Since I have all Aquaclears on my tanks, they sell those extension tubes, and I just keep stacking them up until it goes all the way down...
