I didn't find any blue ones at Petco (or any other place for that matter), so I ordered some from Barbara Woodle from Aquabid. They should arrive mid next week. Just wondering if anybody has gotten snails from her besides me?
Nykole
Never bought from her but congrats on the new snails. Blues are my personal favorite. smile.gif

Is "Barbara Woodle" their username? Or is it their real name, or both? Yes blues are quite cute, I've got 2.

Woodle is her username, and I am looking forward to those. I have seen some blue ones on ebay as well, but decided to go with the ones from Aquabid....smile.gif

Hi there Andrea

I would love some blue snails..will you show us the pics when you get them and it was nice to see you on the pet bakery and read about your love for your many animals..phew do you ever get any you time with looking after all your pets Linda

Linda, I need to have a system behind the whole animal thing, otherwise I wouldn't do it. Today I built a 2ftx3ft wooden box for my new sulcata tortoise. I realize it will be too small for her in a few months, but its a start. Aaaand I give everybody some jobs around the house regarding animals, and as my luck will have it, hubby likes to do water changes on the ponds! happydance.gif
I will post some pics as soon as I get them. I will make them a new setup in the house. The other snails are all outside, but the weather is so warm right now, and its so darn hot in the screened in area.
Maria's food is great! My snails went nuts over it, the dog catched a piece that fell accidentally on the floor. But I can't go by his judgement, he eats anything even remotely edible!...rofl3.gif

Yes I myself haven't ordered any yet, but I know they love them. My dog will eat snail food (haha.. veggies) and fish flakes, I tried giving her cuttlebone for a while but she spit it out after a while.

Isn't it funny what happens sometimes - I didn't find any blue ones in any stores, so I ordered them online. Of course, today I walked into a store I haven't visited in a while, and wouldn't you know, 3 blue snails sitting in a tank with other different snails, mostly golden brigs and ramshorns! And a neat transparent shell at that, so the blue is really nice. So was the price - a laughing 99 cent per snail! Thud.gif
Of course I took them home into my new "snail tank" in the living room, and to my total surprise one laid a few eggs, just above the water surface! All white little shells, maybe 10 of them alltogether! And tomorrow come the ones I ordered online!!....WHY, oh WHY?....rofl3.gif

LOL I dont blame you neither..I have it bad and I dont care rofl3.gif I went into my LFS today the one thats in the top 40 :crp and there was a tiny little golden brig in with fish again and in a cold tank and she had a tiny little foot indicating starvation and all her tenticals are missing..well could I leave her there in that place to die could I ...nope..I had to beg Daz as we really dont have anymore room and after a bit of batting of the eyelashes he gave in..I had a word with the young girl in the shop and she was horrified when I told her what was going on with the snails they were selling she said she would talk to the boss..I named the new little one after her..Gemma..and we won a bid on e bay for lots of different coloured snails from the US..I cant wait I have been out today and bought a new tank..am I excited..you bet!! LOL

Okay, update on the new arrived snails - they arrived happy and healthy, and to my surprise, I found 3 extra snails in there - 2 more blue ones, 1 golden apple!! wub.gif
The seller really packed them extremely well, each pair of snails had their own bag filled with oxygen and double bagged, just like a fish delivery. I have never received any snails in the mail before, so I can't compare to other packaging. This one was awesome tough!
And here are some pictures of the darlings - on the right are the 8 blue ones, as well as the golden apple snail on the left, above 2 of the 3 blue snails I found in the petstore.

They seem a bit dark on the pictures, but they really are a wonderful blue, with very transparent white shells and dark bodies. They are about the size of a nickel and VERY HUNGRY! heartpump.gif
