I am very bad, I went to look at the goldfish in the store, and unfortantly bought two more goldies. They are both missing an eye each, looks like there is still some blood in the socket. They both have a degree of fin rot i believe, one way worse than the other, The one with the worst rot is also missing about three quarters of his top fin. It has a little bit then stops then starts a little farther down his back. Although his looks like it might be a birth defect rather than rot because the space between where his fin should be is smooth. This same one seems to have some white bumpy things the side of his gface, well his gills really. The other one has a few small white things on his tail. They are both in pretty bad shape, and i only have my 7 gal hospital tank to put them in. All the stats in the tank are just fine, i always keep it running, I added some extra water conditioner, when i did a 20% water change. I don't have any meds on me, the soonest i can get any is monday. I have heated the tank up to 75. I am not sure what else to do, what meds to get. I know you are suppose to have 10gal a fish, they are about2-3 inches big now. But i figured whatever chance they had, they had a better one with me than that horrible pet store, all they had in a 30gal tank with about 25-30 fish in was a air stone, none of those fish looked good, but because these were half blind they were going to throw them out, not kill them humanely in anyway, but just throw them out and leave them to die. I just couldn't let them do this, especially since a black moor was my first goldie, i have always had a soft spot for them. I have a 29gal tank with one other goldie to move them to, when i am sure they are healthy enough to go. Please give me some advice, what should i do as far as meds, temps, etc. I will try to post some pics of them tommorrow.

My Gosh!! Poor fish!! Did you actually have to pay for them? If you did, they will replace them and continue to sell unhealthy fish. I don't understand pet shops that are in it only for the money with no regard for animal rights and health.
White spots sound like ich, but if its only on the gill covers it could just be that its a male wanting to breed, called breeding tubercles. Loss of eyes, maybe popeye, can be treated with Fungus Clear. Fin rot, treat with fungus clear. Possible infection resulting from loss of eye, Neomycin. Problem is, I don't think you can mix those two meds. Whatever meds you do end up using, remove the charcoal from the filter but don't turn it off. Also, use salt, do plenty of water changes, and make sure there is plenty of air circulating the water.
Good luck with your new fish, I hope they get better. Maybe you could talk with the pet store owner. Let them know how the fish are doing and keep them updated. Maybe you can convince them to take better care of the fish they have. I got it!!! Ask for a discount on the meds!!! After all, it is their fault....

Nope they charged me 7 bucks for each, and they don't sell any meds, After this i really got to stop looking at fish period, i am running out of room fast. But i couldn't help myself, they are missing oppisite eyes so together they make one pair, almost as if they were meant to stay together. How much salt should i put in, bearing in mind they are only in a 7 gal, should i change a gal a day. One just ate a flake that fell right in front of his face, so i am worried they might not be able to find food. But at least one is eating.

you want to keep their water as clean as possible.. especially where they are healing. so more than just 1 gal a day. you dont want any ammonia spikes.. or any other stress so they can use all their energy on healing.
i dont use much salt.. so i have limited knowledge.. i will direct you to the treatments page where there is more info.
medications pagethe salt post is the 3rd or 4th down.
this is also from the treatment page... info about ich
ich (white spot)that was a very kind thing you have done for these fish.
i wish you the best of luck.
