I have a 3 gallon fish bowl not in use... i was wondering if its too small of a bowl to keep my fish in... it has a filter, gravel, plants and shelter. Any comments?

I would say only as a temporary home for a very small fish. It sounds like it would be great for a Betta, though. smile.gif

i agree with kelli it would be a prefect home for a betta! and since you already have all the equipment you can splurge a little and get a really kool one!

Anyone know how much they cost?
Kelli
They can range anywhere from $2 to $80 (show quality, not something your average person would want as a pet). I've seen some nice looking ones around the $4-8 range.

What about little neons? Could you put 1 or 2 in a bowl that sizes?
koko
Neons need to be in groups of 5 or more and this wouldnt be enough room. for Tropical fish you need 1" per fish per gal, Second you need a heater with a neon and this tank would become to unstable for this.sad.gif
El Pez
yup a pack of eigth neons just wouldn't be too happy in such a small tank and a heater right in the middle of it. so dont try doing that!
