Well I got some new baby snails, thought I'd tell yall about them cause I'm in love with them, they are absolutely adorable.

I ordered 4 from snailsrus04 (who's on Aquabid and applesnail.net) and I received 8. How sweet is that? They were beautifully packed, and all were alive and moving around within minutes of being taken out of the shipping box.

I have some horrible pictures, but you can see them anyways:

Wow, what neat snail pictures!! I love them! Especially the blue and the striped ones...wub.gif
I take it its better to get a light striped snail to see the stripes better. Some of the dark striped ones, it was hard to even see the stripes on Aquabid. And the blue - another one from Aquabid?
Great collection, Airwen! Just wondering - whats the divider for? unsure.gif

I don't trust my goldie, and some of the babies are probably small enough to fit in her mouth. Including the jade and the dark striped purple. Dark striped purples you should be able to see the stripes, otherwise they may be ripping you off.. it's sort of a light purple shell with darker stripes, but my baby has a white stripe where the spire ends. Well light striped purples are rarer.. the adult blue was from the local Petco, but all the babies came together.

Adorable!!
How many do you have altogether?
are you new to snails?
airwen
I've got 11 now. No, I've had snails for a while now... I've had this same goldie for ever, nearly 8 years and snails for much less than that. No... not really, I've had some for a while.

A blue snail at Petco? Thud.gif Well, I better go over there when they open by the end of the month then!
There are 2 sellers on aquabid selling blue snails at the moment, and I am having my eye on one of them. Is it true that the blue coloration comes from the black body inside a jade colored shell?
airwen
No. There is no shell color called "jade", jade in itself is made my a dark body and yellow shell.

As Donya puts it:
QUOTE
Dark bodied with a shell that ranges from completely white, to semi-transparent, in which case the dark blue-ish black body shines through. The thinner the shell, the more blue the snail looks. Blues with a very thick shell will just appear white shelled with a dark body.

Yeah.. they have golds, wilds, blues, and ivories at the local Petco. Horrible shape though, they were rescue buys.

Thanks for clearing that up! smile.gif Will have a closer look on those aquabid snails then...smile.gif Thats a neat site, btw. Spent some time there to admire all the different colors in apple snails! Wow!
