hi i was wondering if water temp. of about 84 degrees is o.k for my betta? turning off the light of coarse is one way of cooling it right it's a 2 1/2 gal. tank with filter and pump.would turning off the pump (bubbles) help cool it down if i need to? thanks carlitasway idont.gif

well, from what i have read and experienced myself it's a little warm but as long as you turn the light off sometimes and let the water cool down i dont see a problem with it they like the temp to be around 78-80 degrees anywway, it really boosts their immune system. i have a small jar for one of my betta's and i have him on top of my tv where he gets nice an toasty! and he loves it! so as long as they are allowed to cool down sometimes i dont think there is a problem!
Good luck and enjoy heartpump.gif

I would think the air moving the water would help keep it cooler. If it's getting really hot I'd just turn the lighht on for a while when your in the room to watch your fishy. Or get a lower whatt blub. I had a 4 whatt that did nothing for my 2.5 gallon so I put in a 7 whatt and the tank would stay at 78'F with it on.
