I went away for 3 days and before I left did water changes on all the tanks and Rubbermaids and my mom was coming once a day to feed the fry but there were still problems. When I came home last night my very favorite female betta, Skittles, was dead and Tig had popeye! I had to seperate all the females into their own jars so the remaining 2 wouldnt fight. I added a little salt to Tig's jar and her eye is less swollen this morning. But I have no idea what happened to Skittles. She was very torn up and ragged which is strange since the females rarely fight. And I dont know what happened to my fry while I was gone but they are all dead. So thats my sad weekend.

Oh I am so sorry that happened. It kinda takes away all the fun you had doesn't it? I hope that Tig will make it and be ok.

So sorry to hear about your betta's Nykole...Wonder what the heck made them freak out??That's always in the back of my mind though when I hear people keeping females together....You just never know... I cannot bring myself to try it. I hate leaving my fish when I go back to my work week...Even though I am tecnically here everyday,it's not for very long,and I have very little time for my fish-unless I pass the sleep part up.Life stinks sometimes.....Poor babies...

So sorry for your loss. I hate leaving my babies too. My dads here to look after them and feed them but he seems to always over feed. I'm going a way for a whole week soon so I'll have to show him how to suck up the extras and poop with the turkey baster and leave plenty of treated water for him to add.

I also hope to have quite a few of the fry sold.

I'm really sorry about all of the bettas you lost. I haven't had the heart to leave mine yet. It's scarey. Hope your Skittles is ok. Please keep us posted.

No I didnt test the water when I took Skittles out but I tested it after a 50% water change and the water was normal (Amm. 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 20). Im assuming she may have tried to challenge the pecking order eith Tig being sick and things got out of hand and I wasnt there to seperate them.
