Prince William

Hi, I'm fairly new to the betta world - and really enjoy these amazing little fish.
"Prince William" seems happy in his little tank. He has a healthy appetite and swims around most of the time when he's not blowing bubbles.
My question is that he seems fairly aggressive. He swims into the side of the bowl up and down and when I look into the bowl to smile at him, he opens the gills on the sides of his mouth at me. (kind of like his cheeks).
Is this normal behaviour? Or is he mad that he will spend a single life of makes bubbles and no mate.

I'm no expert, and just recently got my first betta and mine will do that "flare" if I point my finger at him. I think he is just excited. How long have you had him?
Bettas love attention. My little one loves to swim at the side of the tank that faces me. Others will be on to tell you maybe why he does that, but I wouldn't be worried if I were you.

if you havent had you betta for every long he may not be used to you or the surroundings of if you have moved him recently he may not be adjusted yet but give him time, if he seems happy the rest of the time he probably is it may just be his way of saying hi!
