Hello everyone!! We have another addition in our home. A black crowntail betta! Oops!!! I'm being corrected by the fiance....it's a "black orchid crowntail"(I guess due to the coloring in the tail and the back half of the body makes the name for this breed)

Anyhow, this betta was one that my fiance wanted, so I told him "the naming is up to you then!!" His response was, "Well I have no idea" So I sat there for a bit and then... I know who can help us with names!! So we got Ms. Martinezpr14(Jillian) on the messenger and she started throwing out names left and right for Us to look at. Trust me, if you ever are at a loss for a name, give Jillan(martinezpr14) a holler!! So the one Jon, me fiance, finally decided on was Jabari. Jabari is Egyptian for "brave"...which at the moment is very suiting for him, because Inferno(one of our other bettas and Jabari's tank mate) has been very upset that he now has to "share" the tank....and yesterday he was flaring almost all day long.

The first photo is of Inferno and Jabari in their divided tank. I apologive for the blurriness of these pictures, Jabari is very young, and very quick ....so it was somewhat difficult to get a good shot of him.

Actually, I think he ordered the black crown tail from someone overseas... But Gunner and Gonzo both came from her......she did give us good service!! ---tripped over white-out!!

What a Looker!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely love Jabari!!!! One of these days I'm gonna be able to take pix of my bettas.I pride myself on the fact that alot of mine really do look different than the average(JMO) lol---Any way I have a few crowns myself,and they are my favorites!!!!! The coloring patterns on them are beautiful-as is yours!!!! Congrats to you and Jon!! If you don't mind me asking,what was the final cost of shipping? I have seen quite a few that I like d,but you gotta pay them,and then pay shipper in U.S. etc. PM me if it's embarrassing!!!

Andrea, the divider came with the tank, and the tank came from petsmart!!


Devs, the shipping in the states cost us $32....but that is because we had it shipped one day express(we chose to pay that much....we could have paid alot less if wanted) . It was only $5 to get it overseas. It really depends on who you deal with...because each seller can cut special deals with some of the trans-shippers in the U.S. which means a cheaper price for you. Then again, of you don't choose "Their trans-shipper" , it would probally cost you more. All you really have to do is ask them, usually the are very helpful on answering questions. There is a gal here in the states, that gets bettas shipped to her from overseas, but she is the seller, so the cost is better on that level. She is a fairly reasonable person to deal with as well. Our last two bettas came from her, and the were both very healthy and active when we got them. I think her seller name was ?? Dalmationz14 ??

I bought Flower and Jazzy(my CT pair) from Dalmationz(or whatever her names is *shrugs*) She was very good except I shipped her the box back at her request and never was refunded or even contacted. No big deal though.
