I need to know if it is still alright to breed my male if he never makes a bubble nest,or not?

I think that if you breed your male, he will make a bubble nest even if he has never made one before.
I have had quite a few male betta's, and none of them have ever made bubble nests. I do not know why, they are perfectly happy and healthy, but they just do not make them.
I would still feel confident about breeding him though.

I have forty bettas now and since the age of eleven have probly had over 200 or so. Some make nests and others dont. Quit often as they get to the age of around two years old they will also stop making the nests. I think though if you put him with a female he would know what to do. Watch out for over aggression though. If the pair arent in a breeding way the male could hurt the female if hes overly aggressive. Good luck

Go ahead and give it a try. Your boy should make one for his girl if he is interested in her. There is a web sight called BettaTalk.com go see if this answers some of your questions better. You'll enjoy the sight there are some beautiful fish on it and good info.
