I have a fish,I think she is a female but I`m getting doubts that she Is a female because she,Is bigger than my male,and she flairs back at him when he flairs at her.But she has layed eggs before when there was no male with her,and she has short fins.(I really want to breed her)Someone please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the fish has layed eggs you have a girl. Another way to tell since there are short finned boys is to look where the fishes eggs should come out. If there is a little white thing sticking out of the area it is a female. This is her ovipositor, or egg shute. Boys don't have this. Its not uncommon for girls to get larger than boys as they get older. I've had several hundreds of bettas since the age of eleven and I would say at least half of my girls outweighed my boys in size and length.
