B) My boss is giving me a great deal on a 125 gallon tank, free stand (homemade, but nice) and is charging me only $300.00 for the tank and glass top with a 72" strip light. I can't wait to get it home and set it up. I find it hard to believe I can only fit 12 golds in it. My boss has had it on the floor for about a year and heard I was looking for a big tank. So he made me a great deal.

Now I don't know what to do for filteration. I like the Tidepool II setup we have at work, it's by Marineland. But I already own 3 Emperor 400's and an Aquaclear 500, and they will fit on the 125 with no problem. That's 1700 gph!!!!!. Should I use what I have or go to the wet/dry way of life!!!

What do you think?

Going to a wet/dry filter will sure cut down on the clutter of tubes and hoses in the tank. But if the tank isn't drilled for the overflow and inlet plumbing... I'd stick with the filters you already own.

well, considering ease of operation and the caliber of the filters that you already have, i wouldnt spend any more money than you need to. two emperors and the ac-500 should be plenty of filtration. that gives you about 9x filtration rate per hour. and, youll have the extra emeror for another tank to set-up, wich im sure that youll end up doing anyway (considering your new job and all). lol.GIF

whatever you decide to do, im sure that youll be doing the very best you can for your soon to be filled goldie tank. wink.gif

by the way, what is the normal cost of the hardware (tank topper and light) that your getting from your store?

good luck! wav.gif

B) The tank set up retails for around $500.00. Also the tank has only one divider. That's 36" on each side. So all four filters (3 emperor 400's and 1 aquaclear 500) will fit on the tank to give me 1700 gph. I think that's the way I'll go. But I do love to play with new toys!! lol.GIF

you can use 3 filters, one for each space. I assume there are 2 dividers too. and id put like 10 fantails or maybe 8 comets/commons as to give them more than the bare minimum. 12.5 gallons per fantail, 15+ per comet
