My newest project is turning my 30 gallon puffer tank into a planted tank. I'll post a before and after pic. Let me know what you think! smile.gif Ive added driftwood, an amazon sword plant, cabomba, java fern, java moss, and some more dwarf bacopa. Ive also added some oto cats to keep the algae down.

Your tank looks great, I wish the picture was larger (I can see what you meant by small pics blink.gif )... I also began a planted aquarium but only half the size of yours. Check out the following website:

The Krib

Their articles are a great complement to the ones in aquabotanic. Are you planning on installing a CO2 unit? Are you using a plant-specific substrate? I'll post the before pic of my planted tank in another thread. Hope your plants bloom!

Thanks. I couldnt get the other pic to work but I figured I wouldnt bother till I could post bigger pics. I really want to show it off, Im proud! LOL Thanks for the website. Ive heard you guys on Aquamaniacs talk about that a lot but didnt know where it was. My friend was going to help me make a CO2 injector. I will be getting a plant base (Flora Base from Red Sea) hopefully soon and I plan to layer that over the existing gravel. Red Sea is also hopefully going to send me 3 plant care products–Flora Vit, FloraFe, and Flora Pure. Im also hoping to get a deluxe test kit and test iron levels and everything. Red Sea came to our store and Im the only freshwater person in the department so they told me they'd set me up with plant products. They figure if they give the employees lots of free things then we'll be able to use them and recommend them to customers.

Anyway cant wait to see your plant pics. smile.gif

Can't wait to see your tank in a couple of months!

Have you seen the pictures of aquabotanic's contest? Since I saw them, I fell in love with planted aquariums. I love my goldfish too much to replace them with plant friendly fish, that is why I have to build my aquascaping in the tiny 15gal.
