wav.gif I'm trying to decide where I'm going to set up my betta tank.

Is it safe to place it near a computer monitor, a TV or beside a speaker? I'm just thinking maybe radiation or something I don't know about might affect the betta.

If any of those things are bad (no loud music would be played through the speaker), then how far would the tank have to be to be safe?

ohmy.gif I sure hope not because I have one of my boys up stairs right next to my moniter on my computer desk....I recall someone else doing that...Touchofsky maybe??Don't quote me on that one-my memory stinks sometimes... rolleyes.gif

Thanks Sharon! That's where I really want the tank to go - on my computer table so I can see the little friend while I'm at the computer (ie always) hehe lol.GIF

"Glory Days" (red/white/blue-of course) is in ajar shaped like a round fish bowl.It holds maybe 2-2 1/2 gals. of water. He's got my moniter on the left of him which he occasionly flares at,and on the right he's next to a little lamp.Today when I was doing his water change I noticed that his tank water was nice and warm. biggrin.gif And I think he loves sitting here with me! lol.GIF

biggrin.gif I bet he does! And if my guy wants constant company, that's the best place for him too. I just remembered I have a fishbowl too in the loft that holds about 2 1/2 gallons as well. Hmmmm...if the addiction's as bad as they say... lol.GIF

That is why I just bought Indi - so he can sit next too me all day at work while I am on the computer! spit.gif

If it;s way to bright and he is like right onto the monitor
i would say no it's not the best idea, and loud music will really
stress them out,a good thing to consider is to put your fish into a room
which doesn't have loud sounds or music or people walking in and out it could really stress them out.

biggrin.gif My betta's don't seem to mind the light at all.-I have a couple different ones near lamps so I can see them. As for people, and pathways-same thing-they could care less! I interact with my fish alot,so they aren't afraid of any thing! lol.GIF In fact,I have one female Nemesis (on a good) day-betty boop or Elizabeth on her feed me all day days.Hername changes constantly back and forth--ANYWAY.... I have a friend that stops to visit on occasion, and as soon as he sits down on the couch, her nose is literally touching the side of the jar waiting for him to move his finger up and down so she can follow it-Her little pudgy nose follows his finger every step!!! rolleyes.gif -He's never even fed her,she just likes him. My bettas have no issues about anything.

*LOL* I can't wait to get a betta! They sound like they have so much character biggrin.gif

It's ok, there won't be loud music in here and the tank is quite shaded (beside the monitor and next to a small halogen desk lamp). I think it'll be a great home. I'm tired of looking at the unoccupied tank!

But it's so hard to find small box filters and bettas in this country
