yesterday i got a couple of plants and today i found a snail looking thing one one it is very small but i am not sure...it is about 2 milliemeters in diameter but he is clear and dark at the end of the curl the thing that i am not sure about is that it doesn't look like a shell he looks like a worm that curled up...and instaed of the curling verticaly it is horazontal..

i don't knoe if it is juts like that becuase it i a baby and not developed or is it a parasite that can hurt my fish?

thanks
hamstaman
from ur description it sounds like a Physa Acuta... really small snails that reach about 1 cm in legnth... their shells are a lil odd from the regular apple snails and physa's dont have an operculum ( a door thing they close when they hide in their shell)

It shouldnt do anything to ur fish...more then likley ur fish wil do something too it like eat it!!!.... if u have alot of plants it should be able to hide away...and will come out at night

In my experience they are great algae eaters and biofilm/beneficial bacteria that grows on the glass eaters!!!...if ur unsure about ur goldies eating him... i would move the lil fella to a tank of his own.. and feed him algae... as ive noticed they detest veggies:P
