Im buying a used 55 gal tank that has been cycled for over a year...when i get it will i need to cycle it again?

There is evidence to support the notion bio-bugs will revive off the tank walls quite nicely. I'd bet that tank would cycle faster thatn a brand new one...

IF things dont dry up - you have a good chance of a quicker cycle spit.gif

Just make sure since your buying a used tank and you want to use the parts of the tank that make the cycle up. Ask has there been any diseases in this tank. anchor worms,. Flukes, Things like this. You just don't want in the new tank and they can live in the gravel...... ohmy.gif

Yep, definitely ask about the previous dwellers. Even if it's "dry" the tank will still hold some bugs (good and bad) and some will revive with H20.
