Hi. I have a goldfish that’s bloated in the area between the pectoral and caudal fins. I don't think it's dropsy, as there are no protruding scales and the fish is very active. The fish shares a tank with 4 other goldfish and they’re all fine. Is it possible the fish is egg-bound or constipated? Anything I can do to relieve the problem? Thanks!

Ok, the fish is pooping, so it can't be constipated, and the poop is not zigzagged, so it's not egg-bound. So what can be causing the bloating? The fish is very active, clear eyes, eating...what's going on? Come on, one of you "experts" must know something.

ill try a little bit of help maybe this will bump it some so someone will answer who knows better. even though its pooping try feeding it some shelled peas, goldfish can still poop and be constipated. it wont hurt and theyll love it. i feed mine peas, they think its a treat, and helps clean them out.

I've tried peas. I've cut them into bite-size pieces but he's not eating them.

You could try other green veg instead. Perhaps he just doesn't like peas! Brocolli, green beans or sprouts maybe? My fish like them so you never know!
