:goldfish My moore goldfish hasn't been the same lately, hes been sitting near the buttom only moving when he is feeding. I spotted some white marks on his one side and 3 small holes on one of his fins. I gave him a pea this morning to try and clear out his system. I have a 33 Gallon tank with 2 filters and a bottum filter so theres tons of circulation. i have 9 White Cloud Mountain Minnows with him and a algae eater. hes been like this for 3 days and im wondering if anyone here could help me.
Thx El Pez

Hi
Do you know your waterparameters
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
PH
Often waterquality is the problem when our fish behave out of sorts.
I would recommend changing water say 30-40% after you tested.

There is no need to raise your PH level at all. It is a bit low but a slong as it stays constant and doesnt fluctuate it hsouldn't be aproblem for your fish. Don't go adding these products that claim to make it rise or fall as you would be just adding unneccesary chemicals to your water. The PH isn't a problem here.
You need to test for nitrite, ammonia, and nitrate as soon as you can. this is important because problems such as the ones you are describing are almost always caused by poor water quality. Tthe tests are readily available in lfs' and are easy to use. Post the results here once you get then and I'll try to help.
Until then perform daily water changes of 30% which should perk your fish up a bit.
What do the white marks on his side look like? Are they like scatterings of salt or sugar or are they cotton woolley?
The holes in the fins could be the start of finrot so it's important that your water quality is good. If it is then the fins should heal in no time. If they get worse elt us know and I'll suggest some treatment.
