snails don't poo alot, at least the apple snail that i had didn't, they are very good at cleaning and don't produce large amounts of waste.

i find that they do... their poo is really tiny and clumps in the tank... like a poo in poo reunion.... haha
they kinda resemble sesame seeds so if that is what you are seeing its probably poo...
snails are probably too messy for a fry tank anyways... they may murk up the water and inflict some stress on ur little fish

lmao fantail, take your snail out, and put him in a one gallon bowl overnight - let him stay there for 24 hrs...then go do a water change... YOU'LL SEE HOW MUCH THEY POO!!! they are like poo maniacs. poo machines! i had to take mine out one time while i was treating my fish for ich...WELL to my surprise, every night (since he was in only one gallon of water) when i was doign his water change...i found so much poo on the bottom of the bowl that i couldn't imagine it came from my little darling! lol AND i didn't feed him that week!! lolol what they poo out reminds me of chopped up lettuce and algae...it disinigrates very quickly and i'm sure gets sucked up into the filter or settles into the gravel. there is no need to place too much concern about it, unless you have too many snails in a small tank with your fish.

i think because my snail doesn't poo that much because it i don't feed it that much

it eats algae, so it doesn't eat that much so it doesn't poo that much. this is what i think why my snail doesn't poo.

Oh, boy, those things are literally 24-7 poo maschines! I have had a bunch of baby snails that I pulled off a plant before putting the plant in with the fish. The little snails went into a 1 gl container, just to see what kind of snail I got and if they are pest snails or not. Well, well, well, the floor was always littered with little mountains.....

Yep..they do poo a lot LOL...and eat a lot too..I find I use a whole cucumber in a week plus a host of other stuff I feed them..people think they live off algae...thats what my LFS told me and it just isnt true..I got 2 new snails on Saturday and they must have been starved they havent stopped eating yet or pooing LOL

You are so right, Phoenixx! Mine are all so lazy when it comes to algae, remind me never to hire them as maids in my house. I would have to do all the work myself!

LOL...yep I know what you mean..I have read that other peoples snails make a little funnel with their foot and scoop food from the top of the water mine dont even do that either it just gets blown about with the filter current they just want food in the dish...no cleaners in my tank

LOL

Agreed... snails = pooping machines
Any time I've taken my snails out of my tank and let them live in a bucket for a while the whole bottom is covered in little tiny poops. They look like mini goldfish poops to me. All poop. All the time. That's snails.
