i just got a digicam and heres one of my first pics:

http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v294/t.../minibarrel.jpg

its about 4 gallons and has a peen-plax sand shark sub/filter. the variegated philodendron is growing out of the same pot as the peace lily and is what i salvaged from a poorly kept betta vase. ive got a few scrapples of old aquatic plants from my main tank (my comet, lurch's leftovers smile.gif

i believe this set-up would work for a whole slew of different tropicals including bettas and mollies and such.

tongue.gif lol it looks just like my thing i planed on makeing!
I was planing to use a small barrel for some type of tropical
fish and i was thinking of putting guppies in it lol
It's odd how we had the same idea.
Great job it looks great smile.gif

thanks guys,

ive already got some common guppies in the minibarrel and the hex just finished cycling today. ill be adding a red betta rescue if i can pull him through a treatment for popeye. its not looking good for him though. sad.gif
if he succombs, im going to keep the hex cycled until i find another betta that i want. it sits right next to my computer desk in my room (along with 80% of my tanks) so i can sit here and see them while im surfin' the net or watching tv!

Hmmmmm.

My "Mad-Mollies" would love that! They play for hours in the outlet from the filter in the tank - they seem to like sneaking around the back of the return tube, and letting it push them along the tank.. Then swim back "upstream" and do it all over again - it's really funny to watch.

I think they'd love the barrel, I wonder if my other half would mind me getting rid of the TV?

Great pics Paul!
