Full Version: Shredded Fins, What To Do ?

I don't know what is wrong with the fins of my betta. The end of all of his fins is like shredded. I have removed everything that could have harmed him. He has soft polished rocks, silk plants, kind tankmates (pleco and little catfish), a mini filter and I have removed the airstone too.
Due to all these changes, he built his first bubble nest and seems really in good shape and happy. He eats good (5 HBH betta bites 2 times a day), swims around, fights his reflection on the background glass of the tank biggrin.gif and comes right away when I approach.
Last week, I found slimy stuff in the gravels, and fungus too. I ran to the store and bought "Fungus Clear" and put half a tablet after I cleaned the tank completely (5gallons) and even boiled the gravels. That "Fungus Clear" is said to treat fungus, fin rot, clamped fins...
He has no fungus on himself though and I can't really see if it's fins rot as he is red and purple blue !
The fins aren't eaten away, the end is just shredded.
Does anybody know what it is and what I can do ?
Thanks !!!

How Long Did You Leave The Fungus Clear In?
Also,Did You Make Sure To Remove The Filter Cartridge?

I have the Fungus Clear in since 5 days now and I have removed the carbon from the filter cartridge, as instructed on the box.
