i had to get a new tank and took out the filter media from the old one and put it in a container with dechlorinated water for about5 days then added it to the filter in the new setup.will i have to wait as long for the new tank to cycle again?thanks.

Yes, it's a good idea.

No you wont have to wait as long, but I would do too is take some Gravel from the older tank and place it in a panty hose. this will help seed the tank too Hun
