He probably was hiding in the plants.
Thats how I got my snails in there too (who just laid eggs btw heh.gif
Snails are very easy to keep happy; they nibble a bit on the plants and sometimes I throw in some lettuce or cucumber.
However with your fry that might not be wise so maybe you should move him out into a little container?
Once your fry are less sensitive to mucky water you could move him back.
They dont hurt each other, though the fry tend to try the snail out to see if its food smile.gif

Lol... Only a week after I got my snail I saw a strange substance on my Sword plant. I think my goldfish then had escargo because it disappeared. One week later I spotted at least 5 little babies. These thing multiply like crazy and are very very tiny when born. The lfs must have gotten one to you the last time you got a new fish.

I know snails love algae flakes and vegetables. They will eat your plants if you don't keep them happy!

Actually, snails can keep sperm alive in their body for months.
So 1 snail can reproduce and make loads of little ones.
It started with 1 here as well...a tiny one, very harmless.
3 weeks later there were 5...and then a whole batch of eggs with hundreds.
If you want this, keep the snail.
Else possibly consider getting rid of it.
