i was thinking about trying some tropicals and came across one of those 30 gal high tanks not the rectangular ones for 139.00 and was wondering if it would be good or not since i read they are not good for goldfish.

They are ok, but most tropicals are still better off in standard or long tanks instead. You tend to need to understock high tanks compared to how you would stock a normal tank, and that applies to all fish.

I know that angelfish would love that tank.....They are not always real easy when it comes to keeping tropicals.

It would be fine but take the same precautions you would if you were putting goldies in it. Extra aeration through the use of bubblers should make it fine.
