If you have a male and female betta in 1 tank, they wont fight, correct?

How big do betta's get?

How big for them to mate?

How much water for them to mate?

Thanks in advance....

First, males and females CAN NOT live together - that is a fight waiting to happen. Get them separate bowls/tanks/jars. You can have them beside each other, but please, not together.

Males get to be anout 3.5", not sure on females.

Give me a sec to double check and everything else.

Edit: mating tank should be 5-10 gallons.

K, apparently you can only edit once, so I have to post twice.

If you really want to breed your betta's, I would suggest taking a peek at Betta Talk. Just make sure you come back to Koko's!!!!

I have taken a few peeks at that site myself to learn how to take care of my boy, but never any other site than this one for my goldies' care.

To bad but no,the only time that you keep a male and female togther
is when mateing.Even then, they will fight.

How much water for them to mate? 6 inches of water would
be alright,with a heater.
You have to keep the tank pretty humid so keeping a heater in it and
putting some plastic wrap (not sure what you call it) on the top of the
aquarium to keep the temp inside the tank.

If you are planing to breed bettas im just leting you know it could
be alot of work, are you ready to have 50 and more jars,to put the bettas in?
What are you planing to do with them when they are older, are you going to keep them give them to friends sell them?
Are you going to have enough time to look after them and so on?

Oh I dont have betta's yet I was just wondering if they would breed if they were in the same tank, but I guess you can't put them in the same tank lol.GIF .

Yah, I have plenty of time on my hands! that's how I got into goldfish and was wondering about betta's.

So 5-10 gallons, I do have the room for that, but not for the fry yet lol.GIF ... I guess I should "get to know my betta's" before I try to breed them lol.GIF ...

I think I might buy a betta next time I go to Wall-mart or Petco. I just hate seeing the overstacked tanks there, and the overcrowded betta shelf...

Oh, do 2 females fight if their in the same tank?

Thanks for the site Black_Oranda, I'm going to take a look at it.
