Welp, I woke up this morning w/ the thought of "Hey! Why don't I start a new tank?" I've already done quite nicely w/ my goldies and pleco, but I have a betta mixed in there and he has to have a tank divider or the goldies eat his fins off! So, it actually is helpful to me to have a new tank.

Right now, I've got a 10gal goin on ze fishless cycle which I just started literally an hour ago.

I plan on having an algae eater, a rubber-lipped pleco and the betta in the 10gal, so its lookin like I'm gonna do a "tropical" tank. My question is this: What kinda fish am I gonna have a decent shot at raising healthy in this 10-gal along w/ the aforementioned guys? I'm lookin for something a little more challenging than goldies, but nothing too crazy... I don't plan on getting a new tank anytime soon, either, so keep that in mind. I don't wanna overstock, ya know!

Thx, all.

hmmm by looking at you signature i would say you are overstocked so what i would do is move one goldifsh and algea eater in the 10gallon and Get a very small tank or bowl or jar for your betta
Kev
thats not really fair on the betta though, is it ?

i plan to keep all the goldies and one pleco together. The rest go into the 10gal... biggrin.gif

What exactly is this algae eater? Is it an otto, a chinese algae eater, a flying fox, a cory...?
aaronburro
twas a chinese... and, needless to say, the chinese got the best of the new rubber lipped last night sad.gif

so, the chinese will prolly head back to the store to get traded for a less aggressive algae eater, prolly a cory, assuming that it will go well w/ goldies...

Yeah I've heard those guys are vicious ohmy.gif

In my recent post in GD, I was advised against cories because goldies can eat them!!! Maybe just stick with the plec you have now!
