how do each of you feed ur snails.... i think i may try one of your ideas:D

I used to feed mine cucumber. They can also have algae wafers or zuchini. I do not feed mine anymore. They live off of the algea in the tank and the leftover goldie food. It is alright to do this, but you have to be sure that there is enough food for them in the tank (the algea etc..) only a well established tank will have enough algea for them.

With cucumber or zuchini, just cut a small piece and tie it to something in the tank for them to nibble on. I think algae wafers are just tossed into the tank for them to eat. Some people also take their snails out for feeding time to ensure that they are actually getting the food and not the goldies eating it. Some goldies may steal the algea wafers. Mine loved to eat the cucumber as well.

sad.gif i recently lost my apple snail Albert, but will be getting 2 or 3
new ones, since they are so great.
Any ways, at first i would not take him out at all for feeding, but after
seeing my goldfish eating all the snails food i decided
once a week i would take the snail out for feeding time to make sure
he gets at least some food in a week,
I would let him eat algea and left over fish flakes or pellets that feel
to the bottom of the tank.

And at the end of each week i would take him out and feed him "special" food, like cucumber, lettuce, some types of fruites, i heard that
some peopel feed earth worms to there snails aswell.
There is loads of foods you could feed your snails,my snail
loves peas! so i would feed him that often enough, algea isn't there
favorite type of food,so feeding stuff that they really like
lettuce,or peas is a great idea.

I do as most people as well, i feed lettuce, cucumber etc and i just grab one of the rocks to hold it down, unlike some, my fish actually doesn't bother with it, and my snails are little gluttons anyways so its gone pretty quickly!!
