Well I guess I'll start with the sad news. I had spereated the 3 largest fry into a 1/4 g "breeding" net. Well Mr. Huge(the size of a full grown neon now) killed one or the others cry3.gif so I took the other out. There was no flaring before but Mr. Huge is now flaring at everyone on the other side of the net and some are starting to flare back. The search for a betta condo with small holes is on! I don't want to take them out of the heated tank yet but the big ones need to be sperated to give the runts a chance to catch up.(so they get more food)

Good news, more are showing colour! There's light blue ones, red ones and dark blue/ red ones! Mr. Huge has red fins with a dark blue "frame" around the red. There's still quite a few who need to show colour so we'll see what we get.

They are a little over 6 weeks old and there are about 70 of them. I hope to get pictures soon. Problem at first was they were to small now they won't stay still long enough.

Sorry the canabalism has started. I was wondering at about what age this could happen. Wow, so young and already a chip off the ol' block aye? Sounds like you have your hands full. I didn;t know one spawn could produc so many. I have a lot to learn about this and appreciate your sharing. Can't wait to see the pics!

bellabettas----- One spawn can produce as many as 200 eggs/fry!!!

Mr. Huge sounds like quite a character. I didn't realize betta fry would get so fiesty so early.
