Hey blinky, congrats on your new baby! I guess your exams went well, good for you!
As for food, I went through 3 or 4 different foods before I found one Bruiser would even look at! I finally found the HBH betta bites and he loved them! I also picked up some frozen blood worms by Hikari. Both my boys go nuts for both of these foods. Little piggies! tongue.gif Best of luck to you and Hades!

Mine both love the hbh betta bites.

if your talking about his absolute favorite food, id have to say ......... bloodworms, of course! ill pinch a few if them and drag them across the surface of the water and he chases them around and attacks them like they owe him money or something! rofl3.gif its really neat to see him darting around grabbing them and gulping them down.

as for his second favorite, id say it was ghost shrimp (small).22 hunt them down like a cat. once they get too big, he leaves them alone so, ive got a few extra janitors in there. biggrin.gif

I'll continue on with the chorus and say hbh betta bites and frozen bloodworms. Although, I do have two that will not touch the bloodworms.

ill try the betta bites then. i need a staple diet. he ate almost my whole culture of daphnia in seconds, and it was a BIG culture! he wont even touch the flakes a bought but i guess he'll eat them if he gets hungry enough. smile.gif he did actually take some brine shrimp paste from my hand yesterday and today so i guess he can have some of that until i find something thats right.
blinky000
i dont have any left now so thats not a problem! rofl3.gif thanks for the tip though. keeps him regular. lol. btw, slice is SO cute. look at that face! who else has had luck with tubifex? i havent tried it yet but ive heard most wont even touch it. they just give you 'the look'. you know, 'im disgusted you're even CONSIDERING giving me THAT!' rofl3.gif oh, they make me laugh.

My bettas love all of their food. None of them are the slightest bit picky, they'll eat anything.

My betta fry go crazy over the frozen bloodworms. Well, the fry are almost fully grown, and I break apart the bloodworms into smaller pieces, and the bettas literally attack that part until the worm comes free. Just for the fun of it, I took one of the bigger parts out of the tank today, and the fry that was trying to pull a worm out of the frozen cube, didn't wonna let go, so he dangled there in the air for a few seconds before I stopped finish laughing and put both the fish and the bloodworms back into the tank! rofl3.gif

That is what I call an enthusiastic eater lol.GIF

My fishies all love frozen blood worm too!!

I use a skewer since their longer to feed them with, and i can just jab at something in the water to fishi it out!

Some of my bettas will literally attack the skewer even when there is absolutey NOTHING on the end of it!! Just the sight of the skewer puts them in a frenzy!

They LOVE peas too!

I think the only thing their not too crazy for is the freeze dried blood worms!
