Tomorrow I am taking 2 of my biggest Koi and some of my commons and comets to a new home. A friend lost all of his fish this winter and since mine are getting very large I am giving 10 of them away. I know they will be happier with more room bit I've had the Koi since they were 2 inches (about 13/14 inches now). At least this friend will be able to give me updates on how they are doing but it is so hard to let them go.

Well what do you expect? When we raise them for that long, they are part of us...I would feel bad too. You just gotta keep telling yourself, that it's in your fishe's best interests...Thank god you'll be able to get updates, that should make it somewhat easier... Sometimes we can be selfish, and forget that it's all about what's best for our pets....I hate to give up anythin that I love ,but then think about the room your babies will have, and think about how good you'll make that friend feel. Does he live close enough for visits? If not, I'd tell him that he better be great at taking pics and writing postcards!!!! wink.gif
