So I bought a diatom from Jason for 70 dollars. I used it tonight, and my water looks SO nice!!! What I don't know though, is what do you do with the diatomatic earth that's left when you're done? Also, do you let the filter in the jar thing dry out afterwards? It's a System 1 by Aquarium Products.

B) I have a Whisper Diatomagic filter, and after every use you have to clean it in the sink.NO SOAP!! Of course. The old powder is of no use once is has been run through the filter. I love mine, what a differance it makes. I'm sorry I didn't know about them sooner.

Thanks Mookie!! I didn't know Whisper made one! YEah, I'm so pleased with mine too, I've never seen my water sparkle like it does after I use it. I'm definetly hooked!! Does yours get really hot too? Mine sure does.

B) No, mine hangs on the tank. They are definately cool!!!!

B) It's like a power filter, except the pad and most of the filter goes in the tank. Just like a power filter but backwards.
