I was told that there is a type of floating algae that clumps together and floats on the surface..which i scoop out daily with a net..the question I have is I added some algae remover that is suppose to cause the algae to die and clump..will this work on the floating algae? It never stops!

Do you have a skimmer? What kind of algae remover are you using? Algae Fix works great.

Algae fix is the kind I'm just using a regular tank/pond net to remove algae I then dump it out of the net into the grass..I have a UV Sterilizer could it be the bulb needs ot be replaced or is floating algae never ending?
Scott
I don't have a UV light but possibly the bulb needs replacing? How long have you had it? With a UV you shouldn't need any algae control chems.

What kind of UV light is it? In the pipe or in a flat box? When my pond was smaller I had a UV in a flat box type deal. IT DID NOT WORK! What a waste of money. I then learned that in order for them to work properly they need to be in a pipe so the water can go all the way around the light in total darkness. I do not know why. I guess I should learn more about this, because possibly someday I may have to get one.

I'm sure that you know this, but if your water flow is too fast it also effects your UV light, they have specifications on the box. I can't think of any other ideas?

It is a Tetra ClearChoice Pond Filter with a Tetra Green Free UV Clarifier it is a tube shaped..water runs through it perfectly it has been running on the same bulb for near 2 years now..so i'm going to replace the bulb I think it works wonders..I've never had green water and algae has been scarce

yep, I bet that will solve the problem!
