Im in my 5th week of bringing up some goldfish fry and I have about 40 left for about 65 - 70 that were born - ive noticed that some died and seemed to be dead on the bottom with a sort of white fungus surrounding them - any ideas as to what this is? im keeping water changes as reg as poss and the remaining 40 are dong very well and growing nicely - i did notice one or two live ones have a little bit of fungus or what appears to be fungus - what should i do? I think that uneaten powder food (liquify 3) seems to clump together to form a browny sort of fungus - is this anything to do with the other frys deaths?? sad.gif

i think the white fungus your talking about is
the fry decomposing
i would take the dead fry out as quickly as possible
to stop it from spreading to the other fish
this has happened to me too
they start to die one by one but somehow
when there was 20 left they stopped
its good that your doing reg. water changes
keep it up and maybe cut down on the food
overfeeding is a major cause of death with fry
the problem is that we are so use to feeding the
bigger goldfish, that we somethimes forget to
give them less food
