Ash thank you! I do spend a lot of time picking fish. I'm very lucky though because I have a wonderful fish store and they call me whenever they think they have a fish (or two) in that I might want. I am still trying to get Panda Oranda's but they are very hard to get. They have a chocolate that I may get but it would be hard to see in the pond. But my Oranda's always come to the top when I'm out there so it probably wouldn't be too much of a problem. Porkchop is a character and NEVER misses a meal. Peaches is very bossy and will plow through all the big fish to get to the front. She has attitude..which I love. Ozzy lets me pet him..he loves the attention.

You are lucky...my stores are terrible around me. I usually drive to a garden center about an hour away and just hope they have a good selection when I get there. I would think that the chocolate orandas would really glisten in the sun.

Lachfa, I had missed your pictures. I'm glad that you posted them again. I really like the gravel that you have in the bottem. Is it much extra work to clean it? I also really like your shubunkin.

I just put the gravel in this summer. It needs cleaned and I plan to do that this weekend, so I will let you know how it goes. I added to for the look and to help hold the liner down when we get lots of rain.

Ash, that Panda Oranda is beautiful. I would love to get more Oranda's but right now I'm full. I don't really have any more room for fish since they are all coming in for the winter.

I have 2 good fish stores that I go to. One is where i get my food but haven't bought any frsh from them this year. They actually have a big indoor pond with HUGE Koi. The other is a smaler store which is where I've gotten ALL my fish this year and that owner has his own small outside pond. He has given me a ton of fish because he ran out of room.

LOL - Debi - good thing I don't have that pet store near me - I would have to puild another pond!

That is why and don't go there much anymore. I was there every week for a while. I'll go in sometime in October to bring them some of the Golden Snail babies but I CAN NOT walk out with more fish.

I have a friend who likes to give me goldfish - but not his Koi! I told him I need variety, those goldfish breed like rabbits! I put them to bed for the winter and come spring I swear they multiplied!

I'm always bringing home "bags of water" as my husband says. I'm addicted and guess what...I'm going to the best fish place around me tomarrow
I have to drive a whole hour to get there, but I can't wait to see what comes home with me. You can't drive all that way and come home with just filter parts and food, right?

Tell him you bought them for a friend and are holding them until I come pick them up - which my be a long time!
