I got 6 ghost shrimp today, they are really cool and were good on the ride home (no death or canabilisms) Then the problem started, ohmy.gif

I poured them into a bowl so I wouldn't get store contamination in my tank. Then I counted and there were only 5 but had been 6! blink.gif I looked and looked and didn't see it and I had to leave for a few minutes, I came back and as I entered the room a saw one fly out of the bowl and land near a shelf 2.5 feet away! wall.gif (need LID!)I found him after 5 min caught in a spiderweb under the shelf, then about 20 min after the first escaped I found him too lying on the floor still ALIVE! lol.GIF Then I put all 6 in hte tank with only a few more attempted escapes (they can really JUMP!) so, now I have 6 ghost shrimp and have learned that they need a lid!

Hehe, when I was a kid we used to catch these guys in the bayou near my house. They would come eat the lunch meat we used as bait for blue crabs, they can indeed jump quite far, and like many crustaceans can live for a fair length of time out of water.
