PeachesCat you are too funny!!!!!!!!!! What kind of "water newt " is it? Fire belly-red spotteds-crested? There pretty cool, aren't they? I had some years ago, trouble was that I couldn't keep them in the tank!! I would have had to super glue the lid!!! Don't know how, but they always escaped! They need some sort of floating pad to climb out on once in a while. They eat Reptomin sticks, tubiflex worms, blood worms,tiny-tiny guppies, brine shrimp etc. so you could possibly keep them with your adf's because they eat them same foods. Just make sure to find out exactly what kind it is,and how big they get etc. Before you go and buy them, just make sure that they are not waterdogs--axolotls an or/tiger. They are a whole different story! Those fire belly type newts are better off with half land/half water. I know my lfs has a tank filled with about 6-8inches of water, and what looks to be a red brick in the back of the tank for them to climb on. When you put them in fully filled aquariums, they need that island type floating pad,and like I said "houdini" watch me disappear!

Hope this helps some what!
