Full Version: Madagaskar Lace Is Going Great!
Forum > The Goldfish Topics > Goldfish Tanks > Goldfish plants, & how to set up a planted tank

Just to let everybody know, the Madagaskar lace is going great!! I was a bit worried that an expensive plant like that wouldn't be the best thing to die in my tank, but its doing fine. Growing, the leaves are getting wider, and longer, and its already so long that it creeps along the surface of the tank (its only a 29 gl tank, 1 ft high), so I might consider putting it in a higher tank....although filled with goldies, so that part would worry me a bit.....smile.gif

my goldies don't really nip at my lace at all. Mine are getting huge as well smile.gif Did you ever find out how to get more bulbs out of them?
Ranchugirl
No, not yet, but whenever I take it out into a higher tank, maybe the bulb has grown babies.

I think I'm starting to see a touch of green again! If you recall,I got one off the net,put it in the tank, woke the next morning only to find that my apple snail demolished it! I gave both "chewbacka"and my other snail to my daughter after that. So it looks like it may recover! YEAH! I think they are so nice looking--Glad to hear that yours is doing well! biggrin.gif

Snail, bad snail!! lol.GIF I would have ordered one from the internet as well, if I hadn't found one at Petsupermarket. I bought the smallest one they had there, and that thing is the biggest now!

I just picked one of these things up for 5 bucks, which made me pretty happy, they were like 8-10 every other time I've seen them. I found this one in a group of mixed Aponogetons, it was the only lace plant smile.gif

Well you got me thinking about this plant now Ranchu. I have let my planted tank go down hill since I have to ten my home this month, but when I get it back to shape I just might try it ohmy.gif
