I bought frozen daphnia for my goldies, and they are totally uninterested in it. They swim forever around the tank, sucking the bits up, then spitting them out, one at a time. I tried some with my babies as well, and they do the same thing! Does anyone have any suggestions here? I thought they would like something new, but it seems they prefer the flakes and granules.

I think each tank has it's own preferences - mine go absolutely nuts for ANY daphnia - live, frozen or freeze dried. They swim around with their mouth open like a hoover!

Yeah I believe that it depends from fish to fish. When I got my new Ryukin, it wouldn't eat the daphnia. He had to watch his tankmates eat it first then he copies what they do.

Finiky, aren't they? lol.GIF

Actually, it could be something else, the batch you have, maybe. When I first fed my fish worm food, I don't know if they knew what it was, then they loved it after a while.

Please don't take this the wrong way...but are you defrosting it first? I haven't had one fish yet that doesn't love the frozen Daphnia. I let it defrost by adding a bit of hot water to it and they go nuts over it.
