how long can i store peas in the freezer?
Ranchugirl
I have peas in the freezer for months, just like the rest of the frozen vegetables. But I wouldn't say longer than 6 months probably. I think there is a date of some kind on some pea packages....smile.gif

well, I freeze them..

and it can go up to many months.. and it also depends on the type of peas.. air dried peas or pre boiled peas or salted peas (not appropriate for goldfish) each has different life span..

air dried is the best so far.. pre boiled tends to contain too much water and nutrition is lost during boiling process..

salted is NO GOOD for fish, so I not going to talk about it..

I agree with Ranchugirl that about 6 months is best, although they would be ok longer.

Since I like to eat frozen peas myself, I don't have to worry about them being in the freezer too long. biggrin.gif

But I realize that not everyone likes peas.

I buy the unsalted petite peas. After they are popped out of their skins, they are the perfect size for my fish to eat. And they love peas.

I freeze my peas for many many monthes (if they aren't cooked/boiled already). Just like when I take a bag from the grocery store, and put them all in my freezer till I use them. smile.gif Nancy/Wynkin we both love frozen peas! If I had it my way I would just eat them all frozen, and not boil them at all. Of course, goldfish can't eat it this way, they need it boiled until soft and then popped out of it's skin.
