Please help! I am getting a little frustrated with my 2 oranda goldies, *twiches*. I have 2 calico orandas, I am almost positive one is male and one is female, because of the anal openings. I am trying to get them to breed, I followed what it said to do on this post, http://www.kokosgoldfish.com/forum/index.p...showtopic=12314 and added spawning mops, but still no chaseing, getting faster, fatter or tuberculs!!! Any other ideas of how I could get them to breed? I have never bred goldfish befor, and I have them in a 20gal tank! Any help would be nice!!!Thanks!!!

How big are your goldies, Shannon? If they are too young, you can try all you want, its not gonna happen. Same goes if they are not physically ready yet, meaning if the female doesn't have eggs yet. Is the suspected female round and fat?

They are both about 2 1/2 inches, not including the fins. Yes now the female is getting to look like she ate a golf ball, but the male just swims behind. Is this constant following the starting of chaseing?

A slow rise in temperature from a period of cold will stimulate the spawning.
Try lowering the temperature below 60F over the next few days. Keep it there for a week and gradually raise it to above 68F.
