Do you mean high protien food?

I have read that somewhere too. And it helps them get ready to breed. I haven't become a breeder yet, but will be soon. There is a message board here that breeders watch and a section off of the home page on koko's that may help. I looked for another reference. I will let you know if I find anything on it. smile.gif

I have no idea how late I am with this info, but anyway- My goldies do get egg white as part of the homemade food I give them- this is very high protein.

You could also boil it and give them only the white ( NOT the yellow- thats FAT !!), also peas, soybean- again, boil/ steam/ microwave it, or whatever.., you can also try lentils, depending on how picky your fish are. Mine eat some kinds, I dont know the names smile.gif

Hope this helps smile.gif

How do you feed the egg whites? My fish don't seem to like them that much...should I add it to a gelatin mix? And by the way...when you feed gelatin food, should you cut it into small pieces or just slop the whole gunk you're feeding them?

You can feed them lots of frozen of live food as well, brine shrimp, daphnia, krill, bloodworms, even the pre-cooked shrimp from the supermarket, anything of that is high protein....Breeders do that all the time when encouraging spawning...smile.gif
And feeding as much as they can eat in 20-30 min, so really heavy meals, and daily smaller water changes in the afternoon....
