I do not have any real plants, only fake, can I use the fake plants? I also heard if you take nylon wool and tie it to a rock it works for a breeding mop, is it ok to put this in the tank? Thanks.

I heard about the nylon as well, you can use some 99 cent anacharis as well, and just let them float on the surface.... Of course, the fish might mistake them for their sald entree!

The MOPS on Aquabid are made from Acrylic. It seems from the pics that they are Acrylic yarn tied around a cork for the floating type.

I use a 6" long piece of thick nylon rope wich I unravelled , teased and fluffed up. I have one in my pond and one in one of my bigger aquariums. One end of the "teased and unravelled " rope is bound with nylon string and just hung in the tank with a plastic peg. Over a period of time the rope has developed algea and blends in reasonably well in the tank.
