hia, my bubble eye phoenix seems to have something wrong with her back. it curves to the side which means when she rests on the bottom her tail and head are on the bottom but her belly is sort of raised. could this be swim bladder or constipation? ive never seen this before. water quality is good, no other visable signs of illness. any input is greatly appriciated. smile.gif

Amy, how long does she have that now, did it come sudden, or was it a graduate development? When you feed her, do you soak her food? Has she been chased by the other fish?

i only just noticed it today but i think its been a progressive thing. she has no one after her. theres no males in that side of the tank. i ALWAYS soak her food. ive just been taking pics so ill try and get one of her up in a min.

heres a pic of her. doesnt do it justice really. shes worse just sitting on the bottom.

Most of the time when fish get the bent look, it's a result
from constipation/bacterial infection due to gas or eggs.
Try fasting for 2-3 days the feed peas. After the peas, if
you have some medi-gold, feed that to clear up any remaining
problems. Raising the temp up to 78-80f will help speed up
the digestive process too.

BTW, nice bubble eyes! smile.gif

ok, thank you. i will try that tomorrow. the temperature is already 78f so that should be ok. if it doesnt work i have some anti internal bacteria stuff that i could use. thanks for the complement too. they are beautiful arent they? lol biggrin.gif
