Thinking my Oranda had finrot and swimbladder disease, I decided to do a pea day and a fasting day -
Today I caught the lobster dragging my other goldfish, Fritz, into its cave and shook him out in the knick of time - I hope.
Fritz (black) is scraped to silver behind the left gill. He has a small piece of red, white edged skin hanging from its gill and its left gill flipper fin isn't moving, but held close to the body.
I added MelaFix to the water, removed the carbon filter and separated the lobster after feeding it a piece of chicken (it was obviously very hungry).
Can a little 2" fish survive this kind of injury?? It is still swimming around ok.

Just added salt to the tank too - the part coming out of the gill has healed already!

Fritz is still swimming and eating - so maybe he will recover!??

Make sure to keep the water params in tip top shape. That will
help the most, along with adding melafix.
I would keep the lobster seperated permanently. It's just a matter
of time before a causualty happens.

lobster should be kept alone or with their food.. even lobster may kill each other for food...
well, fish will heal on their own.. just watch water parameter closely.. dun worry too much.. they should be well if they are still active... but water quality is very important now lest bad water will cause infection

Thanks for the advice - Lobster has a new home - alone. White oranda has developed some black "stains" on the edges of his tail fins and on and under a part of his dorsal fin.
I've done a complete water change, cleaning out the tank, added MelaFix and Jungle fungus eliminator, taken out the carbon filter and the water conditions are optimal.
I guess I just wait and see now?
