Well... I was just curious if breeding spots go away after a time? My black oranda has been with me for almost a week now and I figured without the specific breeding conditions available, the breeding spots would go away? I wasn't sure if I should put this in the breeding forum or not, sorry!

Yes, they come and go depending on conditions! My boys' have pretty much faded now since the weather got colder again. It suddenly got really warm in February and all their tubercules just popped right out and were so obvious! They chased poor little Kazu mercilessly and I had to isolate her. It just depends… they come and go.

hmm... oh well, I guess I will see what happens. My room doesn't have central heat and air so the temperature outside reflects inside as well... it was fairly cold last night and it is again tonight, so my room will be cold... hopefully no spawning because I'm in no way prepared for breeding! lol
Thanks!

I had them on my fish not so long ago. I wouldn't worry about them they fall off over time

And here's another pic. B)
I've got one male who hasn't had them disapear. But, my tanks
are locked in at 75f. So possible the consistent temp keeps
them out.

Thanks pm94, I was just going to ask that same question and you've saved me the trouble. Cheers!
